Cuenca. Ciudad Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Cuenca. Ciudad Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Cuenca stretches over the space left by the Júcar and Huécar rivers. Its constructions defy precipices like an “eagle's nest”, a nickname given to it by Pío Baroja, and their perfect balance have earned it the title of World Heritage City. Cuenca is already familiar with the Vuelta: it has hosted 13 departures and many finales. During its last visit (2006), it was the finish-line for a stage won by Samuel Sánchez and was the setting for an ITT won by David Millar.
