The three-day Cantabrian mountain course will have a summit finish at newcomer Cotobello. One of the most grueling stages of this edition, with three cat 1 climbs. The first, Cabruñana, at 45 kms from the starting line in Gijón will be the only cat 3 climb. All the rest will be cat 1 climbs. Half way through this stage, San Lorenzo, its good road disguising its 14% and 15% gradients. Afterward, La Cobertoria, averaging an 8.6% gradient. And to finish off, the 10 kms of Cotobello, lying ahead with its gradients of up to 12%, averaging 8.1%.
