The second mountainous stage of this edition 57 of Vuelta a España offers us an ideal stage, on the one hand we will discover Granada, a place where so many cycling stories has been written and on the other hand the audience will be the witness of the climb to Sierra de la Pandera, a special category pass (1,840 metres high). The last stretch of the route will be exciting, because after crossing the streets of Jaén, the riders will have to face Los Villares mountain pass, a second category climb and then finally the 13 kilometres that lead to Sierra de la Pandera.

Brilliant riders such as Beltrán and Sevilla have already said that "the last kilometres are going to be eternal". Many people has named La Pandera as the southern Angliru. The first 600 metres are very tough, they are similar to La Huesera in Los Lagos. Those who want to win this edition of Vuelta a España will have to measure their strength because the climb, apart from being beautiful is hard. We will face a new special category climb in La Vuelta; the first rider to reach the top will go down in history.
