Heading North, when the race crosses the lands of
Segovia and Burgos, the stages are going to be complicated and tough.
Long kilometres to try their stamina, climbs up and down to try and
break the race and cities full of enthusiasts such as Cuellar, Peñafiel,
Roa de Duero, La Horra or Lerma. Difficult roads that will make the
race difficult to control. Segovia says good bye to La Vuelta once again
and Burgos welcomes us again.
The first time Burgos welcomed Vuelta a España was in 1966 when Nijdam became winner, but in their streets more winners celebrated their triumphs, winners such as Lammertink, Dejonckheere, Masciarelli or Johan Bruynell. Last time La Vuelta visited Burgos was in 1988; that year we left Burgos and headed to León; Abraham Olano was wearing the Gold Jersey that day. |
